Buddhist Meditations on DEATH!

Contemplation on Death and the impermanence of life are very important in Buddhism. By recognising how precious and how short life is, it allows us to value the here and now even more and make the most of our life. Death is inevitable, yet when someone we know dies more often than not, we are surprised. As spiritual beings having a human experience, we know our spirit is immortal, but our physical body is not. this is one of the reasons why, most of us don't have a real sense of our death..it seems a long long long way off. When we will die none of us can be sure, it could be today, tomorrow, next year, the year after or 60 years from now, none of us know.
In common with the Buddhist tradition, a lot of  modern cognitive psychology and behavioural sciences, the underlying message is to live in the now and enjoy the present. To be in control of your thoughts and focus on the moment, looking at what you do have and paying attention and nourishing it, instead of letting your mind become distracted with "things", that are not important in the long run, such as the negative emotions of anger, guilt, hurt, fear, or our reputation or focussing on the acquiring of more and more material possessions.

The Quality of your life..

"The quality of your life is the quality of your internal representations" Michael Hall PhD

The pictures that you make in your mind, your internal dialogue and the feelings that you have as result, will determine what you are going to move towards or away from in your mind.
Your life can be an epic film or one long drama. Consider this, if your life was a movie and you were the director, how would you want the movie to turn out? What would you be doing differently?
If you think about it, your mind is like a cinema screen and your life, past, present and future are a collection of clips playing constantly in cinema screen of your mind. Becoming aware of the movies we consistently play and the soundtracks to our life, enables us to direct our movies to achieve the outcome we want, in turn transforming our health, relationships and personal performance.

What kind of movie would you like your life to be ?
